FAQs

Are transfers included?

Transfers are not included from our arrival airport to the starting point of our trip. It is your responsibility to be in McMinnville at the appropriate time (see the Travel & Logistics section).

A complimentary transfer is provided from our final destination, Cannon Beach, to either downtown Portland or to the Portland International Airport (PDX). If you would like to join this transfer, your flight from PDX should be scheduled to depart at 2pm or later. If your flight leaves at an earlier time, or if you are planning on extending your time in Oregon, you will be responsible for arranging alternative transportation.

What if I have special dietary needs?

Traveling with dietary restrictions or allergies can be a challenge, but we’re here to help. Prior to your departure, we’ll send you a questionnaire where you can inform us of any special dietary needs you have. Depending on the information you give us, we will work with our in-country partners to adjust menus and be aware of allergies and restrictions on the trip.

What about supplements if I am traveling solo?

Accommodation pricing is based on double occupancy (two people per room). This can mean either two guests traveling together, or two solo travelers of the same gender paired as roommates. When occupancy is not double, a room becomes ‘single.’ This results in a single-supplement room charge to account for the difference in price. If you're willing to share a room, we'll do our best to pair you with another guest of the same gender. If we're unable to pair you with another solo guest at least 96 days prior to our trip start—or if you would just like your own room—you'll need to pay the single supplement fee of $900.

Who is this trip appropriate for?

The majority of this adventure requires a moderate amount of active participation, with light walking over short distances, often over uneven surfaces. It may be required to climb stairs to reach activity destinations or other locations. Although individual activities themselves are not heavily active or strenuous, some activities or locations may present challenges to persons with special needs or physical limitations. Neither Modern Adventure nor any of its suppliers may physically lift or assist travelers onto transportation or on daily activities. If you have questions or concerns about particular activities or trip aspects, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

What is the cancellation policy?

You may cancel on or before March 16, 2021 and receive a full refund minus a $500 per-person service fee. If you cancel on or after March 17, 2021, there is a 50% cancellation fee. On or after May 15, 2021 there is a 100% cancellation fee. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance as we are not able to make exceptions to this policy in cases of family/medical emergency or cases of the trip being canceled (see our Terms and Conditions for full details).
