Trip Start

Our adventure begins at 3pm on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at The Atticus hotel in McMinnville, Oregon. It is each guest's responsibility to meet at the trip's starting point on time.

Arrival Airport

The closest airport to our trip starting point is Portland International Airport (PDX), a 75-minute drive from The Atticus hotel in McMinnville.

We recommend scheduling a car through the hotel, or hailing a ride-share service upon arrival. Expect to pay about $70 for a Lyft or Uber from PDX to McMinnville.

While it's possible to rent a car at PDX and drive yourself, we do not recommend this option, as we'll be traveling as a group in some locations where private cars are discouraged.

Pre-Arrival Accommodations

We stay in unique, in-demand hotels on this trip—rooms go fast and daily rates change frequently. If you plan to arrive in McMinnville prior to the beginning of our journey, we recommend staying at The Atticus (see Our Accommodations section), which is also our meeting spot on Day One. Please contact the hotel directly to book, and let them know you will be on a trip with Modern Adventure and would like to extend your stay prior to the trip start. We will try to avoid unnecessary room changes, allowing you to stay in the same room from start to finish—however, please note that this is not always an option and room types vary and are subject to change.

If The Atticus is booked, we also recommend 3rd Street Flats, with fully equipped, modern apartments in two locations in downtown McMinnville. Another option is to stay in Portland at the Woodlark, a sophisticated design-forward property in the heart of downtown Portland.

Trip End

Our trip ends in Cannon Beach on Sunday, July 18. After breakfast on our last day, Modern Adventure will provide a complimentary transfer from Cannon Beach to downtown Portland or to Portland’s PDX airport.

If you would like to join this transfer, your flight from PDX should be scheduled to depart at 2pm or later. If your flight leaves at an earlier time, or if you are planning on extending your time in Oregon, you will be responsible for arranging alternative transportation.
