Trip Overview
Our Modern Adventure to Oregon celebrates some of the Willamette valley's great wines and the people who make them. We'll learn about the valley, the vineyards, wines and meet some of the intrepid visionaries who planted Oregon's first grapes 50 years ago and were considered crazy.
A short drive ( uber / taxi) from Portland is our starting point of McMinnville, a charming little town in the heart of the Willamette Valley. This is our base for two nights, exploring some of the valley's towns, vineyards and wineries. We will enjoy private dinners, exclusive tastings and be invited to David and Eugenia’s home nestled amidst the Adelsheim vineyards.
Then it's off to the coast, with a stop in Garibaldi for a luncheon at the historic US Coast Guard Boathouse with fresh caught crab, local oysters and Adelsheim wines. We'll arrive to our hotel in Cannon Beach to explore the pristine coastline around Haystack Rock and browse the town's shops and galleries. An optional morning hike to start our second day with a casual pub lunch before free time. This last evening, rounding out the day with a beach bonfire to celebrate our Oregon adventure together.
