What To Expect

Modern Adventures are designed to showcase the best of a destination, and promote community, sharing and celebration. We thoughtfully curate all elements for an immersive, diverse experience—but you'll still have some free time almost every day to relax and soak in the atmosphere.

The Oregon Experience

You’re among grapevines sipping the best Pinot noir you’ve ever tasted, mere inches away from where it was sourced. The bustling city and the ocean are both just a stone’s throw away but you’re in a different world. This isn’t France, Germany, Argentina, even Napa. This is wine country the Oregon way.

If you love celebrating heritage, craftsmanship and the art of fine wine, welcome to Modern Adventure's Oregon!

What We'll Do

Explore | some of the Willamette Valley’s finest vineyards with private tours and tastings, plus dinner with David Adelsheim at his home at Quarter Mile Lane.

Heritage & Connection | Celebrate the care and craft put into the culinary culture of wine country and the coast while savoring incredible world-class wines pioneered by intrepid industry visionaries.

Toast To Oregon | People flock to the Pacific Northwest for a reason. Immerse yourself in the land, from the lush hills of the Willamette Valley to a seaside tour up the Pacific Coast.

Daily Flow

Our Modern Adventure to Oregon is well-paced and packs in so many incredible experiences—yet it’s not without leisure time to explore on your own, or simply to unwind and relax. While our activities each day will vary, the cadence remains about the same, with most days starting between 8:30 and 9am, and finishing around 4pm, then reconvening for dinner around 7pm.

You will have the following days and times at your leisure, where you can explore, dine where you wish, and enjoy Japan on your own. If you would like to make reservations for a specific restaurant, use the following days and approximate times as a guide:

  • Day 3, in the evening in Cannon Beach

  • Day 4, in the late morning and afternoon

How We Eat

Our trips feature a range of dining experiences, designed to showcase the breadth and local flavors of the places we visit. In Oregon that means everything from beachside seafood to exquisite wine tastings to decadent meals prepared by local chefs. We'll visit local cafes and dine at the region’s premier wineries. And we’ll sample an array of local flavors, from fresh oysters to world-renowned wines.

Special Dietary Needs

Traveling with dietary restrictions or allergies can be a challenge, but we’re here to help. Prior to your departure, we’ll send you a questionnaire where you can inform us of any special dietary needs you have. Depending on the information you give us, we will work with our in-country partners to adjust menus and be aware of allergies and restrictions on our trip. We kindly request that any changes to our menu are based on need rather than preference, as we work very hard to curate an exceptional dining experience that is difficult to change.

Traveling as a Group

Group travel is an intimate, empowering and fun way to learn about yourself and others. Like any good relationship, it thrives with respect. We ask that every guest honors the key times in a day to ensure everyone's experience is the absolute best it can be. This is everyone's adventure! We also appreciate that time is precious. Every trip incorporates a mix of guided and free time for optimal exploration. But if you’re looking for more time on your own, please let your trip leader know and they can advise the best times to do this.

Alcohol

Please note that this adventure is for guests ages 21 and older. Some alcohol is included on this trip, including wine experiences and tastings. Alcohol will also be offered with some of our meals. If you would like to enjoy additional beverages during the trip, you may purchase them at your own expense.

Dining Out

The restaurants we choose are known for their quality of food and the authenticity they represent. They are also fit for groups like ours. Besides dining at local restaurants we’ll also be invited into David Adelsheim’s home. We also have times to dine on our own. Our trip leader can assist with local recommendations
